With The Future of NoWork From Sydney to Auckland
We started on February 19th at the Stone & Chalk Scaleup Hub in Sydney
What was truly exhilarating about this event? We launched with zero connections in Sydney, wondering if anyone would show interest. Through collaboration with the Nowork.ai team, AITHENTIC, and strategic social media outreach, we not only registered over 160 people but welcomed more than 80 attendees in person! The diverse audience included UNSW Sydney students and staff, plus a special delegation of young students from Japan. What a privilege to host such an international community at our event!
Event Highlights
Practical AI Implementation
Blair Woods, CTO of SupaHuman AI demonstrated how Generative AI is revolutionizing business operations. Through compelling case studies, he showed how AI automation of complex tasks—from warranty claims to report generation and compliance assessments—dramatically reduces manual effort while delivering impressive ROI for clients.
The Human Side of AI Integration
Filip Drimalka, Founder of nowork.ai and author of "The Future of NoWork", delivered a presentation that resonated deeply with attendees. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many appreciating his European perspective and insights from his AI literacy business survey. Filip's authentic approach—actively using AI in his daily business operations—proved that walking the talk creates immediate credibility. His book, originally written in Czech and now translated to English, has gained such momentum that it's been published in South Korea and India!

What Did We Hear From Our Audience?
One of the most powerful moments came when an English teacher from Japan voiced her concern: "I'm hearing about all these tools that can actually replace us—what should I do?"
This sparked a beautiful human connection when an Australian man sitting nearby thanked her for practicing Japanese with him, as he hadn't spoken the language in some time.
This exchange perfectly illustrated our core message: Technology isn't about replacement, but enhancement. It's about creating opportunities to connect through meaningful conversations that no AI chat can replace. We each have unique discoveries and life stories—not algorithm-generated narratives.
Interestingly, tech giants have been saying that "English is the language of the future"—meaning we need to know how to effectively communicate with AI systems. This presents an opportunity to practice AI communication in ways that could positively impact our human interactions.
In our increasingly digital world, have we forgotten how to engage in deep, meaningful conversations? This event reminded us that while AI offers tremendous business value, the human connections we form remain irreplaceable.
